NLC India Recruitment preparation strategy

Earlier, Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, India (NLC) had released the notification for the recruitment of Graduate Executive Trainee (GET) through a computer-based online test from young energetic, dynamic & result oriented candidates for its units and facilities located in various Projects at Neyveli, Barsingsar, Bithnok, Talabira, South Pachwara.

Compensation Package & Other Benefits

Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹ 50000-160000 (E-2 Grade) and offered an attractive compensation package (CTC approximately Rs.13.64 Lakhs per annum) and will be on training for a period of minimum one year . 

Selection Procedure

  • Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria have to appear for the Computer Based Online Examination.
  • The Online Exam will be held for a duration of 120 minutes.
  • There will be 120 objective type questions with multiple choice answers.
  • Candidates qualifying the Computer Based Online Examination will be shortlisted for a personal interview in the order of merit based on the Marks scored in the examination.
  • The number of candidates to be considered for a personal interview will be 6 times the number of vacancies notified.

The pattern of Online exam

  • The Question Paper will consist of two parts;
    • Part-I with 40 questions on Quantitative aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Data Interpretation and General English
    • Part-II with 80 Questions on Professional Knowledge (Discipline related).
  • Each question will carry 01 (One) mark and for a wrong answer chosen, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in the Personal Interview will be
    • 50% for General(UR) / EWS
    • 40 % for OBC (NCL)/ SC/ST / PwBD candidates
  • The final selection will be based on the aggregate of marks scored by the candidate in the Computer Based Online Examination and Interview
    • 80% weightage for Computer Based Online Examination Score
    • 20% weightage for Personal Interview

 Syllabus for Non technical discipline

The written examination is the most important thing in the whole selection process as it has a weightage of almost 80% in your selection .so, special emphasis should be given on the same.

Also, it may be noted here that some candidates neglect the general awareness including general science and English section.Due to which they are not able to make it through the merit lists even after scoring very high in other sections.so proper time should be given to prepare for these sections too.
